  4. Ask yourself if the car uses oil or coolant — a contaminated sensor will just fail again until the cause is fixed
  5. If all that's clean, replace the sensor — it's had its innings

Which dials to watch for P0133

The code itself is a snapshot. The fault sets after the car's watched the numbers over a whole drive cycle. Here's what's worth keeping an eye on:

O2 B1S1 voltage
This is the fault made visible. A healthy front sensor swings briskly between about 0.1 and 0.9V at a steady cruise; a slow one wanders lazily. You can literally watch it thinking too slowly.
Short fuel trim
If trims are swinging hard, the mixture itself may be the problem and the sensor's just struggling to keep up. Worth knowing before you spend on a new one.
